Margie Shiner - John, thank you so much for your interest in the Duncan Memorial and all its history, and sharing it with us. It evokes so many memories of the wonderful summers we all spent at Loon with Grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins……all related to GRD.
I am so impressed with your planned participation in the race this summer and I wish you great success!
It is gratifying to know that the Duncan Memorial Camp, Camp Quality and the Loon Lake Association are all functioning well.
With my pledge I think of the Duncan Clan in particular, those who have died and those who are still with us.Love, Margie Shiner (nee Racine, daughter of Marion Racine, who is daughter of GRD.)
P.S.. do you think the time has come considering recent history, for the race to become co-ed? I’m sure a few female relatives would be interested!!!
Note to All: The Duncan Shield is co-ed!!

Elizabeth Parker (Fred Duncan)
I dedicate my pledge – to my Dad Fred, to my Grandfather GRD, to sister my sister Ann, Ann Duncan, and to Uncle Gay GRD.
I recall a visit by Uncle Gay and Aunt Fran when I was in Bethesda, shortly after the birth of my second son, Andrew. Dad had died when I was pregnant with my first son, James. And when I saw your Dad I could not stop crying – he reminded so of my Dad and I realized there was so much unresolved grief with his untimely death.
May you feel their spirits with you on this adventure.

Gayle Duncan, I pledge my donation in honour of my immortal father, John Duncan, who has yet to meet a challenge he hasn't surpassed. When he told me he planned to win the Duncan Shield, I thought he was nuts... but that was 12 months, 65 lbs, and 9000 bench-presses ago... besides, he's always been nuts! Go get 'em Zaida!! xox Gayle, Vic, Kobe and Ben
